Henry A. Sejda | Henry J. Sejda was born May 2, 1916 in Bridesburg, Philadephia, PA. He attended St. John Cantius Parochial School and helped pay his tuition by shoveling coal for the school's heating boiler in the basement. Henry entered the US Navy during WWII and was assigned to the SeaBees. He shipped out of San Diego and was stationed at Naha Air Base in Okinawa, Japan. Naha was the former Oroku Naval Air Base, captured by the US on April 1, 1945 in the Battle of Okinawa. It was taken over by the US Air Force under control of the Pacific Air Forces (PACAF). After the service, Henry married Margaret M. Richardson. Margaret worked at H.K. Porter during WWII and served as a telephone operator in Riverside. They settled in Delanco in 1955, living on Poplar and Buttonwood Streets in Delanco. Henry and Margaret raised eleven children and the family was very active in St. Peter's Parish in Riverside where Margaret served as Eucharistic Minister. Henry worked for Rohm & Haas in Bristol, PA. Henry died December 14, 1988 and Margaret died July 17, 2003.
